French Dip Sando

What You Need

Ingredients

  • Max’s Dutch Crunch Roll
  • ¼ - ⅓ lb. Roast Beef
  • 2 Slices Provolone Cheese (optional)
  • Aus Jus
    • 4 Cups Beef Broth
    • 2 Sprigs Rosemary
    • 2 Sprigs Thyme
    • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • Creamy Horseradish
    • ½ Cup Sour Cream
    • 1 tbsp Mayo
    • 1 tbsp Prepared Horseradish
    • 1 dash Apple Cider Vinegar
    • Salt & Pepper to Taste

Everyone’s oven is different, yours may take a little more or a little less. Remember, you can always toast it more, but there’s no un-toast setting on your oven!

Get Prepped

Max’s Dutch Crunch Roll
  1. Preheat oven or toaster oven to 400 degrees F
  2. Toss an unsliced roll in the oven for 2-ish minutes
  3. Let roll cool for 5-ish minutes to get that signature crispy top

Au Jus
  1. Add herbs, garlic, and beef broth to a saucepan and simmer on medium-low heat for half an hour.
  2. Remove herbs and garlic.
  3. Salt to taste,
  4. Add roast beef to Au Jus and reduce heat to low. Keep warm until ready to serve. (Roast beef should take 3-5 minutes to warm up)
Creamy Horseradish
  1. Add all your ingredients (besides salt) to a bowl and mix thoroughly. Add a pinch of salt, mix, and taste. Repeat until it’s perfect.

Put It All Together

  1. Slice your roll in half along the equator. You should see a little “lip” of topping on the side. Start your slice right above that.
  2. Slather your Creamy Horseradish on both sides of the roll.
  3. Add your juicy roast beef to the bottom half of the roll.
  4. Cheese (Optional) - Add your provolone on top of the roast beef and broil on high for 30-60 seconds, or until cheese has melted.
  5. Pour some of your Au Jus into a small bowl for dipping.
  6. Add your toasty top half, dunk in some yummy Au Jus, and enjoy!
